When you go to bed, only think of pleasant things. Turn off all lights, stereos, TVs and Computer. Start thinking of relaxing things like sitting in a warm whirlpool tub and feeling the gentle pounding on your skin, don't set on high, or sitting on the beach and feeling the breeze of the ocean flickering through your hair and the warmth of the sun on your body and how relaxing it feels. Or the one that works for me, I imagine myself painting these large and wide and tall numbers or letters like an S or B or the numbers 8 or 3. Using a paint brush and my favorite color, I began to slowly paint. The trick to making you sleepy is once you pick up that paint brush and begin to paint, follow the strokes of the brush with your eyes, up and down over and side to side, never taking your eyes off the brush. The eye movement will make you fall to sleep. You can also count sheep, but instead of counting, watch them with your eyes from where they are approaching the fence then jump up over and down to where they land, then go to the next one, Again the eye movement will make you tired and you fall asleep without realizing it until you wake. im an insomniac so nothing really helps.......but a game that once helped me may help you..........what you have to do is envision a blackboard. your goal is to keep the blackboard clean, without writing on it. every time a thought crosses your mind, it is written on the blackboard. so every time you catch yourself thinking about something, you have written on the board, and you should erase it........thus erasing the thought from your mind, thus keeping your mind UN occupied for long enough for you to fall asleep........HOPE THIS HELPS! First try and make use up your bodies energy before you go to bed. To do this you might go for a run or do exercise. For some people not taking a shower before you go to bed helps as for some people this wakes them up. Don't have coffee, sugar or anything that gives you energy as all your body will want to do is burn it. But if your in bed what i like to do, to help sometimes is i think of a movie and try to recap it in as much detail as possible.

If this does not work you can try the relaxation position of semi-supine. (see the link for how to do it) (An added thing which i do is in the semi-supine positions i move my head slowly from left to right, when i am moving my head away from the middle/ center position(when your head is in line with your body) i breathe out and when i am moving it back to the middle/center position I breath in i repeat this a few times)

The link says that it gives your body angry but what i find is that relaxes my mind and when my mind is sleepy it will tell the body to relax and do to sleep.

I take 2 tylenol PM. There is also unisom and other stuff, dunno the active ingredients of them. Tylenol pm is just acetaminophen + (generic of) benadryl. I wish I could get ambien or something cause I need something stronger but drs dont like to prescribe anything with addictive possibility.
