Could you revise at the local park or public library for a change from the college scenery.? Perhaps during college you could take a proper break at lunch, go for a walk, do some shopping and that will help you be prepared for staying behind, even if it's just for an hour or so.

Have a timetable for college, work, revision and time for yourself. Perhaps you could keep one night a week free and a Sunday afternoon for example, and do something you really enjoy..cinema, gym, eating out or just watching TV.

Having a break will really help you feel refreshed for when it's time to knuckle down and do some studying, which will in turn help you cope with everything!

8 A-Levels plus work sounds like a lot! Would it be at all possible to reduce the hours you work.? also talk to your family about how difficult it can be to revise at home. You can ask if you can be undisturbed for at least an hour while you revise. Perhaps if they have free time on their hands and they are disturbing you, ask them to get stuck in and help you revise. They could quiz you on work, do Q&A or ask you to discuss what you're revising. Then they can be of help! Hope that helps.Health Question & Answer

Hi, 8 A levels is a lot to take in one go, but good luck to you, I hope you do well.

Dealing with the stress, well as you said you cannot get any peace at home. The park sounds a good idea, somewhere without fluorescent lights. If staying at college is getting to you, is there a quiet library perhaps. You could even consider doing 4 exams this year and 4 next year, to take some of the pressure away. I am not sure of your situation, so only you can decide what is best for you.Health Question & Answer

You have a great deal on your plate right now and you are going to have to prioritize. What is most important to you right now, and then proceed to do whatever it takes to complete this task. Then go on to the next one. Is it possible to hide-out elsewhere until your exams are finished.? Or at least 2-4 days a week. Will your family be understanding to this.? If you can do this, then you can also get the time you need to relax and rest up. Taking walks alone will help your stress as well. Do what you have to do. It's your future and the sacrifices now will pay great dividends later. Hang in there and good mental healthHealth Question & Answer

I would suggest going down to the local nature scene. Take a book, music or whatever keeps you happy. Go sit down by a river valley and watch the water, or in a park and just listen to the birds.

When I'm really stressed, I go downtown and sit by the outdoor waiting pool. People are usually splashing around having fun, and it relaxes me.

Invest in a pair of earplugs, that are like 15$ at most for about 7 pairs. Tell whoever bothers you that when you have them in, you don't care how "important" it is, to...well piss off lol. I had to use earplugs because I sleep in the basement. The floor creaks loudly so I never got a good night sleep. :)

Try those. What can you lose.? :D

Good luck! :)

8 A level exams!! No wonder your stress levels are becoming intolerable.

The headaches will almost probably be stress related, I'm sure you that I don't need to tell you that if you carry on like this you could end up with seious problems.

First off, I would take time out....Get plenty off exercise...& keep things in proportion. Your mental health is more important than a few poxy exams.

Good luckHealth Question & Answer

is there a local park or anything.?
i'd go to the park and sit there where its a little calmer and relaxing. just the alone and quiet time is enough to get you back on track.Health Question & Answer

Stress treatments appear in section 42 at ezy build, below. A certain level of stress is unavoidable, in modern society, so it is a good idea to develop effective coping methods. Light to moderate daily exercise helps fight stress. For some people, it helps to visualise a quiet, relaxing scene (imagine, as vividly as you can, that you are on a tropical beach, reclining comfortably; you luxuriate, as the the sun warms you, and a gentle breeze caresses your skin lightly, inhaling the tangy, sea scented, salt laden spray from the sparkling, translucent, aqua waves, crashing on the white, coral beach sand, and feeling the hot sand slip through your fingers in one hand, sipping your favorite drink with the other; all the while, the seagulls call, swoop and cavort playfully overhead in a cloudless, azure sky: you feel just like one of them, free to soar and cartwheel, or just glide in the moist, heavy air, and that this moment will last forever ... ).

Consumption of 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily; (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or its FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it. The supplement DHEA is thought to counter the stress hormone, Cortisol. Ginseng & Lady's Slipper are recommended herbal remedies: see section 55, at ezy build, below. Practice daily, of one of the relaxation techniques in sections 11, 2, 2c, or 2i; whichever works best for you, but the mindfulness breathing for 15 - 20 mns is ideal, although the progressive muscle relaxation can be learned quickly, and takes only several minutes, if pressed for time. also: http://www.mindtools.com/stress/Relaxati... & http://relaxationemporium.com/ & http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/conditions/m... & http://tinyurl.com/29so4u & at www.lessons4living.com/ there is an audio demonstration. You could repeat: "I feel calm" and/or "I can handle this." , or employ the EFT version for use in public, for which you can reasonably claim that you have a headache, as you massage/tap your temples, but it may be advisable to restrict yourself to subvocalising (saying it to yourself, in your mind, not aloud). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o refer. "Even though I sometimes suffer from stress, I deeply and completely accept myself". A variant of EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, which has been used successfully for those people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, insomnia, and anxiety, is shown in section 42, on page i, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris I have found that the 2 - 3 minutes spent using the EMDR markedly reduces distractions to the relaxation process, and is well worthwhile. You can also multitask, using the gazing technique, as you walk/jog or exercise, by focusing on a distant object, or just focus awareness on how each step feels, noting any thoughts which flash across your mind, without pursuing any particular train of thought, just gently redirect your focus to the task at hand.Health Question & Answer

Options for you, or others: A massage (at least neck and shoulders) with jasmine, lavender, juniper, and/or bergamot, or German chamomile essential oils added to the massage oil, and to a warm bath, preferably beforehand, to help make any tension knots and muscles more pliant (they may only want, say, a sandalwood & juniper, or bergamot mix:; check first). I am aware of advice that strong heat, applied to essential oils can damage them, and so I would not use a diffuser. also consider anise, basil, bay, eucalyptus, peppermint, rose, or thyme, putting some pieces of rock salt in a small vial, then add a few drops of the oil of your choice (the rock salt absorbs the oil and is less risky to carry around than a bottle of oil). opening the vial and breathing in the scent whenever you need a quick stress release. You certainly have a lot on your plate to contend with.

I would suggest first of all get to sleep and try to wind down. That should help with the headaches which you are having because you are so tired.

Then whilst at work concentrate only on that. Go out lunch time in the fresh air forget exams and just browse the shops or go for a walk.

Then your family should be easy. Tell them you need space and then after a nice long relaxing bath. Go to your room or a place of peace and work. Allow yourself so long for the studying. When you feel tired. Stop because you will not revise any good if you are tired. It will not register in your brain. That is the time to spend talking to your family or helping them with chores whatever it is you have to do.

You have to segregate yourself from each problem, Then you will be able to cope better.

Good luck. I have never been in your situation but I hope what I suggested will help you.

By staying on a College you are taxing yourself too much after already study at College. Take a break first before continuing working if that is the only place you have to study. Or a take a nap first.Health Question & Answer

Just logic thinking. I believe the brain can only take so much at a time. This would vary with individuals of course. Answer your body and you will succeed. JHealth Question & Answer
