How to say...I don't want the pills anymore?!
Question: How to say...I don't want the pills anymore.?
Hello
I'm 15 years old, and i've been going to therapy/ on anti-depressants since I was 13. Therapy doesn't do anything for me, and i don't want to be on these pills anymore, I want to fix this myself. I've been on 2 different kinds of medicines, at different doses, and nothing works! I want out. But the problem is my mom won't even LISTEN to me when i try to tell her.
Help....?

It can take a while before you can find the right medication for you. But if you don't want to be on meds that's ok too. I am on no medication at the moment, but i do go to therapy. You cant fix this by yourself you need help to get through it. My advice would be talk to your mum and your doc see if you can stop your meds and see how well you can cope being off them but please stay in therapy while your on no medication. Just for a while at least.

If you were able to fix this on your own then how did you get on medication in the first place.? Two different kinds of pills for depression isn't much because there are dozens of depression medications they can try if you give it a shot. There are also different kinds of therapy and if you aren't getting anything out of therapy then you may need a different person to talk to. It could be that deep down you don't want to get better. It could be that you are not ready to get better. Bottom line is I don't think you can fix this yourself.Health Question & Answer
tell your therapist you really want to go off them. Be prepared to get bad withdrawl sysmptoms including worse depression.
Id love to me medication free myself but its not happening anytime soon.
But maybe you can do it. Again, ask your doctor.Health Question & Answer
