It can cause them to go into a severe state of mania, or become extremely depressed. This is what happened to me when I was put on an antidepressant. A bipolar patient needs to be on a mood stabilizer rather than an antidepressant because it will stabilize their mood so they don't have the "ups" and "downs"Health Question & Answer
they will obviously help because bipolar disorder is depression with periods of major highs and lows. antidepressants will help someone with this condition- love to know why someone is rating me badly.? i have a degree in psychology and have studied depression and treatments thank you go look it up yesHealth Question & Answer
Antidepressants should not be used for bi-polar. I have bi-polar and I take Zyprexia it is a mood stabilizer. I think mood stabilizers are the way to go because you need to prevent both being too high and too low, both have serious consequences.Health Question & Answer
