Is my sister Bi-Polar? (Only serious Answers)?!

Question: Is my sister Bi-Polar.? (Only serious Answers).?
She gets angry ALL the time. At little things. And snaps all the time too. Very violent at times. Gotten suspended a few times about violence. Is 14 years old. She threatnes and uses physical violence to solve many sometimes, yes she usually goes to that.. alot. She can be like this at times. But go back to laughing and happy in a split second. it also pissed her off when i try to have a normal conversation about it. Shes also like.. goth and doesnt like a lot of peope except for our cat fluffers. And when i confront her she just laughs it off like its nothing. Or blows up at me yelling you crazy i dont have an issue or a chemicle imbalance. This Cant Be normal!!!! And dont say go see a doctor. Is this Bipolar, because she seems to be 2 different people, or is this just an anger issue. (p.s were twins and sorry for this being to long.)Health Question & Answer

Answers:
it's not bipolar disorder. i have bipolar disorder and can say by experience that people with BP can't just be so mean one second then okay the next. most people think that bipolars are very angry, but it's not really the case. mania does bring irritability but it's more of a distorted reality and acting like you're high off of life..being so happy. then it's depression in a few days or longer than that and those waves last for a few weeks to a few months, then you go back to normal and you're pretty much the normal you. ...until you get stressed out again.
PLUS. honestly, we're notvery violent people!! it's stigma that says we are.

acting like two different people is not being bipolar.

it doesn't matter if she's gothic or not. AND it's not because she isn't disciplined enough. that guy is an idiot who said that, obviously he shouldn't even be in the mental health section since he doesn't know crap about true disorders. if she doesn't like people--it means she definitely has a personality disorder. then the anger....violence...i bet she doesn't show any remorse (ya know, feeling sorry)...all that shows there's something wrong.

and YES. going to the doctor [psychiatrist] WILL help her.i don't get why your parentshaven't done anything about her being like this...but YOU need to be the adult and speak up to your parents...OR your school counselor. a chemical imbalance is the reason for disorders and she DOES have a disorder. you need to speak up. i'm really sorry you have to deal with such abuse but seriously that is not bipolar disorder. you said nothing baout depression. BP is about depression and mania..not violence. so please, forget that one and focus on personality disorders.

if your parents refuse to take her to a psychiatrist, then talk to a school counselor and the next time she starts to hit you, you call the cops. i know, it's your sister, it's your twin...BUT honestly, i'm not trying to scare you but...since she's so young and already having an anti social like personality disorder...and isn't getting the right help she needs...she most likely will be more violent when she's older. i'm talking about battery/assault charges...maybe even murder. once again, i am just being hones,t i'm not trying to scare you. i've researched about personality disorders and mood disorders (planning on being a criminologist or psychologist...soo , gotta understand how things are with multiple disorders) and i've just read up on how people who start having such rage and violence at a young age end up to be very dangerous people who end up killing people. it may be an exaggeration, but it's better to prevent it!
so...when she starts yelling and hitting you (or someone else) you call the cops. she needs to be stopped either by the police or a psychiatrist.

and look at this if the symptoms don't really match up. the way to figure that out is if it matches up with 7 or more symptoms.....

bipolar is usually not a split second change. the person will be manic for an extended period of time and then go crashing into depression. it can take weeks or months. has your sister always been this way.? or did it start with puberty.? even though you don't want to hear it, it may be best if you talk your parents into taking her to a doctor. if this has started recently, there may be a physical reason.Health Question & Answer

Since your twins.. identical or fraternal.?... there have been studies conducted, if your identical, it's very very likely you would BOTH be bipolar. So, if she has it, you would too. But, on the other hand... she could possibly bipolar, or just another teenager. If you don't thinks it's normal, sorry, but the only one who can diagnose it is a good doc or a psychiatrist. Ask your mom about getting her to a doc... hope i helped.. best of luck!!Health Question & Answer
