Am I crazy for not wanting to take medication?!

Question: Am I crazy for not wanting to take medication.?
I was on anti depressents and other things for a while and I hated it and I kind of found this peace and meaning to life

Then I recieved this problem about 5 months ago that has made me have a really low tesosterone and I will probably have to take testosterone therapy as well as other medication to help with the symptoms(sleeping pills, anti-depressents, anti- anxietys)

My mentality is I almost would rather die then take medication, probably because I found this peace and meaning to life and I hate being controlled and I hate not feeling like meHealth Question & Answer

Its probably wrong but i feel that i can share a connection with you i never take medicine like i would rather be sick for weeks than take simple medication but i refuse to take any tylenol because i fear of it ruining my liver i would rather die in pain than have my liver shot. Its just a decision you have to make and i feel its normal to go against your doctors orders some times.Health Question & Answer

It is hard to deal with having a health problem and being dependent on medication, and nearly everyone who develops a serious health problem does go thru these kind of feelings. It is even harder for people with really serious disabilities - for example, my husband is now legally blind due to complications from diabetes that he didn't know he had. He's been an active sportsman all his life, so this was such a blow to him. I personally have bipolar disorder and lost my career and wasn't able to have kids (not able to care for them) due to the disorder. He takes meds for the diabetes now, and I would take meds in a heartbeat for the bipolar if I could find some that would help. But it is still a horrible feeling to know that you are dependent on the meds. Best thing is to just give yourself some time to get used to this, but follow the doctor's suggestions anyway. You will cope with it in time.
