I get a really phlegm-y throat after eating?!

Question: I get a really phlegm-y throat after eating.?
This happens about 90% of the time after I eat ANYTHING. It's not because of dairy; I'm really picky when it comes to dairy (I haven't drunk milk in years.) It's extremely annoying having to clear my throat and cough every time I eat. Any ideas yahoo answerers.? Thanks.Health Question & Answer

* What is phlegm.?

Phlegm is released from glands in the walls of the bronchi (airways) and from cells lining the nose and sinuses.

* What symptoms can be associated with excess phlegm production.?

* Runny nose.
* Irritant cough.
* Inflamed nasal membranes.

* Why did I get it.?

Excess phlegm production may result from infection, allergic reaction or by inhalation of irritants (e.g. smoke, FOOD). Excess phlegm production can be a sign that there is an imbalance in your system. When you have an imbalance, you are susceptible to various diseases which can settle in weak areas of your body.
