Tampons....I need some advice (description inside)?!

Question: Tampons....I need some advice (description inside).?
Okay. This may sound weird, but i had a dream last night that i PUT IN A TAMPON!!!it kind of hurt, and yes,i really felt it in the dream! Then, some bubble popped up,and it said the tampon broke my hymen. So i was like,oh well, right.?i never felt it afterwards.but near the end of my dream,i pulled it out by the string, and it hurt!(i forgot to say that when i put it in,before that,i took out the applicator, then put it in...weird)
so when i woke up,i asked her about when she first used a tampon.she said it hurt, cuz when she pulled it out,it clung to her skin.she said her flow was medium.that's probably why it hurt, and maybe cuz that was back then, when tampon weren't as good as today...right.?So to sum it all up,my questions are:
1.) Does it hurt to put in a tampon.?
2.)Should I use it only when my flow is heavy.?(haven't had period yet)
3.)Is it best to only use it when your flow is heavy.?(are you even supposed to put it in when not on your period.?)
4.)When pulling it out, will it also hurt when your flow isn't heavy.?

K,thanks,if you answer this.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Im 16 and i think people dont know what theyre talking about when they say tampons hurt. they really dont.
i usually only have my period for about 3 or 4 days, and on day 3 its usually very light. I only use tampons, and have only used pads once, cause they feel like diapers.
id reccommend using plastic applicators for sure. the cardboard ones are very hard to insert and hurt pulling them out if youre dry.
I was really nervous to use one at first, but its really not that bad. You can use them when you want, but after a while you reconize your flow pattern, so you can wear a pad or whatever if you want. DO NOT put it in when you arent on your period. i never really think it hurts, but probably cause i forget that im wearing a tampon and when i take it out its absorbed alot.
its easier to insert a tampon with your leg on the toilet seat if youre just learning. if you arent wet enough, just put water on the applicator if you need to.Health Question & Answer

1. it may at first, but you'll get used to it.
2. i find tampons better than pads when my flow is heavy. sometimes i use both. it's all about what you prefer.
3. it's not best to put one in when you aren't on your period, but you can use them on light days.
4. it might hurt a little bit.

in every tampon box they have a paper in there that has directions/tips/other junk on it. read it.Health Question & Answer

it doesn't hurt putting it in, but taking it out does get a pinch if your flow isn't heavy. In order for the tampon to slide out with out sticking to you skin is to have it damp. And no Don't use a tampon when your not having your period. There is not need to do that. If you discharging use a liner or pad. And don't sleep in a tampon, its not good for because if its in too long you can get TSS (toxic shock syndrome). I don't use tampons i use pads. unless the occasion calls for a tampon. You can use a tampon when you period is medium but if the tampon doesn't have blood on it then its going to be a little rough getting it outHealth Question & Answer
