Ok i'm seriously freaking out about my first tampon. HELP!!!?!

Question: Ok i'm seriously freaking out about my first tampon. HELP!!!.?
when i slid the applicator thing inside, i couldn't feel anything. but as soon as i pushed the thinner tube inside, it started to hurt so i stopped. when i looked down, i could still see a tiny bit of the tampon stuck in my hole. after i calmed down, i tried taking the tampon back out, but it hurt SO MUCH that i couldn't. is it ok to just leave the tampon in there not all the way in for 6 hours, THEN take it out.? or is it dangerous to keep it in when it's not fully inserted.?.?.?.?.? HELP HELP HELP. i'm seriously freaking out. i can still feel the tampon when i'm sitting down or walking but i can't take it out cuz it hurts so much. HELP!!!!Health Question & Answer

Okay, first you need to calm down. Relax every muscle in your body, if you are all tensed up it will be hard to remove the tampon. Do NOT leave the tampon in for that long. The reason why it hurts is because you probably don't have it in all the way. Another reason is that your flow might not be heavy enough. You should maybe way about 30 minutes to an hour for the blood to get to it. Why I say this is because if you try to take it out five minutes after you put it in, it will stick because it is to dry.

If you can not wait this long then you will have to gently take it out.

First: Find something you can prop your legs up on, spread them apart.
Second: Find a cup or something that can hold water in and pour some onto your vagina. Hopefully the tampon will soak up some and it will come out.

After the water has been soaked up it should come out easier or it will slip right out.Health Question & Answer

stop panicing, you've put it in wrong or you're not on your period

just relax your vagina muscles, if your tense it won't work, gently pull the string, don't yank it or it will hurt more

NEVER put in a tampon if your not on your period because its dry in there and it gets stuck

this should help you with putting them in PROPERLY in future

Tell your mom!
Or...keep it in, and go to the bathroom...and try to pee, once u pee, get some toliet paper and grab the string and pull.

I know it hurts, but...would you rather let it just hurt for a lil while, than letting it stick inside of you.?

Do it fast, just like a bandaid!Health Question & Answer

um i dont think so. just make sure to not leave it in for 6-8 hours. it shouldn't hurt. take a deep breath and think of something else. when u take it out, try not to tense ur muscles. also try not to think about it. take it out really quick.
good luck,
hope this helped,

It will probly be very uncomfortable if its not put in right. I would take it out. Wait a couple min for some of your blood to soak on it and it will make it less painful to pull it out instead of it being dry.Hope this helps.Health Question & Answer

that happened to me when i first started my period.
it hurt soo baddd and i thought it would never come out.
get the area around the tampon wet, it will come out easier.
it took me just a few minutes after i did that.

good luck.Health Question & Answer

Just calm down, and take the tampon out. If you read the box it can cause toxins in your body. It's not as serious as you are making it. Just take it out, and go back to pads.Health Question & Answer

that happened to me to..tell ur mom that the tampon hurts when pulling it out. try relaxing ur muscles and try again. if that doesnt work than go and pee and try pulling it out with a piece of toilet paper.Health Question & Answer

my girlfriend had this probleme to just pee in like a owl or a bottle and put it lightly on the tampon...take it out fast...u have quicklyHealth Question & Answer

Ok, take a deep breath, you're fine. Don't panic. I'm sure we've all done this at some point or other. They don't always go in right the first time. That doesn't mean you have to give up and go back to pads. Try, try, try, again, right.? Practice makes perfect.

When inserting the tampon, put your first finger and your thumb of your non-dominant hand around the neck of the applicator where the thinner tube meets the bigger tube. Slowly insert the applicator into your vagina until your fingers are touching your skin. That's where you stop and go ahead and push the thinner tube in (with your other hand) to insert the tampon. That's a good way of gauging how far the tampon should be inserted. Once it's inserted you can remove the applicator and throw it away (never flush it down the toilet). You shouldn't be able to feel the tampon inside at all, but always make sure the string is outside. Hope that helps for your next insertion attempt.

As for the current issue....you're just going to have to pull it out carefully. Don't pull on the tampon hard or fast, you could cause tears inside of your vagina which would then start bleeding and could get infected. Instead, pull slowly with enough force to get it out. It might hurt a bit because you're dry, but it'll only last a couple of seconds.

You should really remove the one that's in there now and insert another one properly. Otherwise, you could get leakage, not to mention how uncomfortable that must be.

Anyhow, hope that helps! Good luck! Let me know if you have more questions, you can email me if you'd like! Take care!Health Question & Answer

Calm down, calm down. It's only your first time, so you're probably going to have to go through a few before you get it just right. First things first, you shouldn't ever be able to feel a properly inserted tampon. So you need to take this one out. It's going to hurt, but just grit your teeth and pull. (For future reference, a tampon that is "fully-loaded" won't hurt as badly when removed.)
Just keep trying. You have to take the time to figure out what's right for your body. But the tampon does need to be all the way up there for it to work properly.

Here's a website that might help. also, look at/in the tampon box for directions. The best resource, from my personal experience, is your mom or trusted female adult.Health Question & Answer

Simple answer, Just use pads. They can be very comfy to sit on if you have nice big undies!
I used to be able to use tampons comfortably(Though I've had the same thing happen to me that you describe)
but these days I seem to have poweful muscles that just push them back out again. You may find it gets better with time, but don't feel you HAVE to use them just because other's do. After all, it's not a penis, and therefore it's not the most natural thing to be holding inside your body for a length of time.
If it's an issue of going swimming with school or something, then to be honest, nobody has the right to make you put something in your vagina that just plain hurts you!
You may be using a big size, and your vagina may actually be quite small. (Don't worry, they all stretch when they really need to!).
Take it out, bear the agony, and when the pain subides, and your period is over, try putting your fingers in there gently to get used to how fab and stretchy it has the potential to be.
If you want to try tamons again, have a tube of KY jelly to hand,(I've seen it in a Pound shop recently, so it's never that expensive) and use a tiny amout to lube up inside, and getting it out again use a tiny amout smeared just outside.Health Question & Answer
