i have an ovarian cyst and the pain ranges from a dull achy pain to
sharp pain in the pelvic area at random times. their very veryy painful
and seem to hurt more when you have your period. talk to your mom
about getting a dr appt to check it out. when i went they just sent me for an ultrasound and then they found a cyst. then i was sent to the gyn who then prescribed birth control to dissolve the cyst and hopefully the pain that comes along with it.im in the process of trying to dissolve it now...so no results to inform you on yet.

Sometimes you have no symptoms. Other times you feel a medium sharp pain just above your hip bone & in about 3" towards your belly button. I would sometimes get this when I would sit up from lying down, or turn in bed. If the cyst is large you can also get brown spotting (old blood) when it is not your period. Usualyl you get cysts on one ovaries, it is rarer to get them on both at the same time. if you lie down & feel with your finers the ovary area & it feels really tender you could definatley have a cyst. I had these symptoms before & went for an ultrasound & as soon as the roller went over that spot I felt tender & it was cyst. The treatment was 3 months on the pill.Health Question & Answer
Ovarian cysts can cause no symptoms but some people experience pain such as; cramping, worse on the period, painful intercourse, forepay etc...
So I would say they feel sore, and annoying.
If you think you may ovarian cysts, or are worried go and visit your GP and take it from there.
