I am scared of blood?!
Question: I am scared of blood.?
I am 16 and female, so this is obviously a problem.
I just started my (first) period in July, so I am fairly new to them.
I am scared to death of blood. When my nephew scrapes his knee, I tell my mom and I run away. Seriously, i FEAR blood. So when I start my period, I get really scared and I feel sick. So I run to my room and stay in bed until my period ends. I cant stand the sight of blood. What should I do.? I cant handle periods because of this fear.Health Question & Answer

Well just remember that this is a part of a woman's life has messed up as it may be. I would not talk to you MD at this point about finding ways to stop you menstrual cycle considering your age but give it a year or so and there are many options for you. There are now pills and shots that stop a female from having periods. Some light bleeding may occur on occasion. However at 16 you are growing hormonally and I would suggest you bring it up to you doctor. You don't want to stunt your hormonal grow at this time considering your age.
