Is not having a period for 4 months a symptom of cancer?!
Question: Is not having a period for 4 months a symptom of cancer.?
This might sound like a stupid question, but I'm serious. I haven't had a period for 4 months and I'm scared it could be either cervical or ovarian cancer. I have no pain of discomfort in that area, but I've never gone this long.
I'm a virgin so I know it's not pregnancy.
Anyone know.?Health Question & Answer

It's probably not cancer. Some common reasons for not having a period-- stress, being underweight and/or not eating enough, over-exercising. You should probably visit a doctor just to rule out any serious conditions.Health Question & Answer

It's a symptom of not ovulating. If you don't ovulate, there is no reason to have a period. However, it's not normal. If you have had your period for a couple years and have been regular, make a doctor's appointment so they can make sure everything's working the way it should.Health Question & Answer
Could be PCOS polycystic ovarian syndrome or amenorhea which is stopage of period. Nothing to worry about. I had my first cycle when I was twelve and than my second cycle at 18. I know! Long time!! I had both PCOS and amenorrhea. Plus I have endometriosis. Check with your doctor if it continues. It could also be stress. If its more than stress, don't freak! Many women have PCOS and we do just fine! Good luck!Health Question & Answer
If you know for sure your not pregnant I would ask your dr. Sometimes a lot of stress will make it dissappear.Health Question & Answer
