I get these when I am about to get sick. Usually within 24 hours of having them, I have terrible stomach cramps and vomiting. Don't know what it is either.

Eating garlic can cause such problems. There is a substance in garlic that creates sulphur salts in the bloodstream. As the blood passes through the lungs to pick up oxygen it release the smell into the lungs which comes out as you exhale. It's effects last up to 24 hours, long after the garlic has been digested and is a foul odour. Naturally burping after eating garlic will also produce such a smell. Tell your friend to avoid it. In my opinion garlic should never be used in cooking or even as it's original use, floor disinfectant. It must be the most anti-social 'food' ever. Food tastes so much better without it and there is then no risk of offending anyone with mega-bad breath.
