Nail bitting is a habit, usually causes by stress or anxiety. My 9 yr old bites her nails and has had two infections under the nail because of it, it seems to be a very hard habit to break, but it is bad for your nails, fingers and teeth. Some people try to stop by applying nail bitter or lemon juice or even bandaides to the fingers.
