Abortion..does it hurt?!
Question: Any ladies that have had an abortion.does it hurt really bad? How long does the suction last?

It doesn't hurt it's just uncomfortable. The main issue I had was afterward my body went into a little shock because of the procedure and the medication and I passed out. I was on the couch for a couple days due to the medication and was sore as well, but it's not something that I would say hurt. It doesn't last very long, it took longer to get the IV and to talk to the family planning person afterward.

it hurts both mom and baby. if you wait 2 long 4 an abortion, the baby's skull develops and they have 2 smash it up. some peices of body get left in the mom, 2. the tube put into the mom hurts, and by now the baby can feel pain.
i had an abortion when i was 23 and i thought it hurt pretty bad. but, they give you pain pills before so it doesnt that bad. the sucking should last only a few minutes and then youre done. I left the facility about 35 minutes after procedure was done & went home and passed out. I was totally fine the next day except for a little bleeding, which lasted 3 days total. you can totally get thru it. good luck, if thats your decision.
I got an abortion more then 10 years ago. No it does not hurt when they are doing it, you are sound asleep. After wards it sort of feels like you are on your period and are getting really bad cramps. That only last a couple of days

Physically you should be sedated, therefore the pain would be minimal. Emotionally just keep in mind that it is not a solution to a problem, just the pregnancy. The problem will be your conscience afterwards. No matter what you believe. No one tells you that the pain continues from a different angle. Possibly your heart. So think it out real well. It's not birthcontrol.
It's not so bad. It just feels like cramps. Most clinics or doctors will ask if you want anesthesia or medicine to relax and it might cost a little more. But the procedure is fairly quick. Just make sure you are totally sure about the decision to have it done. I've had 4 and I was totally sure. I won't have anymore though. It can have some harsh effects on your body and weaken your chances of having a baby when you actually want one.

I had an abortion when I was 16 years old . To me it was the best choice I made because of the life I am in right now. I was in no way equipped or ready to have a child and nor could I bear the thought of someone adopting my child . So back to your question. They usually give you a big muscle relaxer and pain pill and you wait about 45 minutes till you feel the effect. They take you into a room and ask you to lay down. A nurse will hold your hand and the you will meet the doctor. At first you will feel pressure but the breathing exercises the nurse tells you to do help. At first you will think if you are making the right decision and a part of you wants to back out , some do , some don't I know I didn't. The doctor gets these different instruments and and as you feel pressure like (the worst cramps ever) you feel something pop. Then comes the suctions. Suction lasts about 5 minutes and that does not hurt. The suction is very light though, so if you think it is going to sound like a vacuum cleaner it is not. Then when he/she is done he takes out whatever is in you and the pressure is gone you then only feel a mild cramping. Next you go into a room and you wait to see if you are bleeding too heavily. During that time they will hand you some crackers and juice since you are not allowed 12 hours before the procedure. Once you go home and the medication wears off it hurts a bit more but keeping taking advil or aleve and sleep for the rest of the day. Afterwards I thought it was the worst decision I had ever made but when I recovered everything was better. I would never have an abortion again now that I am of age and able to take care of a child . well to begin I am against abortions, but if it helps I know this girl(my sister to be more specific)and she had an abortion about a month ago or so..it lasted about 2 minutes cause she wasn't that really far. They will sleep you if you want to so it wont really hurt but after the medicin goes away it does hurt I saw my sister suffer alot and she promissed to never have another abortion again!never have one in Mexico cause you never know if they wash after they use the utencils!
