You can't until they tell you. If you're looking for stereotypical behavior cues, you'll find that many straight people "act gay," while a lot of gay people "act straigh." One good sign, though: if he's in a gay bar and coming on to you and you're a guy, too, chances are good that he's gay.

Gay people don't always have their gay banner on.it's something that the potential gay person needs to realize for themselves.it's really hard to label whether people are gay or not because it really isn't as easy to catch as one would assume.some many stereotype gay men as being very girly and feminine.my dad is gay and he is certainly not girly or feminine.everyone was shocked when he came because he didn't 'seem' gay at all.
But I actually have had experiences where I thought someone was gay and I turned out to be right.Those kind of guys seem to have to be on heterosexual overdrive.talking about hot girls and boobs and wanting to bang girls and such.it's almost like they are trying to convince themselves that they're straight.when deep down there gay self is screaming to come out.eventually they do.some people take longer to evolve than others.but that's just my experience
