Yes they are unprofessional in any "professional" setting. Limit piercings to ears.

It really depends on where you work, but in a corporate environment it is considered unprofessional.
they look disgusting
these days nose peircings are pretty common, but it depends on where your working. I think to be proffesional you should stay away from tounge piercings, though. but nose piercings and maybe even a discreet eyebrow one is ok
It really depends where you work. At a place like Spencers or Hot Topic I think it is to be expected. But if you're working at anywhere else basically (corporate world, restaurant, boutique), it is not only unprofessional, but a little trashy.
If you can take them out at work and put them back in at home, that should be fine. Personally, I don't care for facial piercings at all.
It really depends on what your profession is. I mean, if you are a tatooist, then no, body piercings are not unprofessional. If you have to wear a suit everyday, then maybe the piercings are not such a good idea. I'd say as long as you can hide it / take it out, then you are good.
It kind of sucks because people in the professional fields (especially the older people), totally sterotype those who have a different look than the "standard". I hope that changes one day, but until that day, I guess we are all subject to other people's judgement.if you care, that is.

My own experience.
If you do it tastfully, and wear small rings and studs while at work it's okay
My very personal opinion: They look very unprofessional unless you are a professional (rock, rap or what so ever)singer or tattoo artists or anything related.
I really find face piercings disgusting, specially nose, tongue or mouth. I could pass eyebrows but still don't like them
