Epistaxis or nose bleeding can be caused by a number of factors:

Local trauma (nose picking..seriously) is the most common cause
facial trauma (ie. getting punched in the nose)
foreign bodies
sinus infections
inhaling dry air for a long time
snorting cocaine and other chemical irritants can cause nose bleeds

People with poorly controlled high blood pressure can have nose bleeds, but it's not very common as a direct cause.

People with clotting disorders can have nose bleeds

Sorry, I know this sounds gross, swab the inside of your nose real good with some Vaseline! it really works, it's probably just dry in there, but you could also have a blood vessel close to the surface that needs to be cauterized, so try this first and if it keeps happening see your Doctor.
