She went to the beauty shop and told them she wanted it dyed blond. She went every 2 weeks to get it stripped(i think thats what they call it) of some the dark brown hair. During the process it will look like you have highlights. After like four weeks her whole hair was blond. It wont be cheap thou if you go to blonde.

It must be bleached first. however you can buy the regular dye from the store and so long as its left on long enough it will go blonde. i had that problem at first too

buy this dye called born blond ultimate lightening kit it works the best or you could always go to a salon.

See a professional! DO NOT TRY TO LIFT IT YOURSELF!! Save yourself the head ache and goto the salon and let some one who has a clue of what they are doing do it. Otherwise you will be going in there to have it fixed and that is called color correction and it costs at least $100 to start and goes up from there.

remember, however, that the hair closest to your scalp will process faster due to the heat from your head. this is why a professional should do it (you can't get to all the root area because our elbows weren't made to work like that)
i am naturally level 2-3 and go to level 7 with no problem. and no bleach.
don't go too light - it will wash you out and make you look old and sick.

I have dark brown hair too. I used bleech and my hair turned orange. THe best way is to see a profesional hair dresser, and don't do it yourself.
it needs to be done in steps, first bleach to take the color out, then dye with the shade of blonde you want.

you definetely dont want to get stuff from the store if you have brown hair. You will need to go to a beauty supply store and purchase a developer. There is a few types of developer 10,20,30,40 volume.40 being the stongest. I would recommend 40 if your hair is really dark but 40 usually kicks in pretty fast so you will have to work fast. Might want to get 30 to be safe. Then you will need to mix the developer with a powder bleach. There is a lot of brands out there just get something strong like pure white or something that has a extra strength on it. You will mix both of these together.it doesn't have to be a perfect mix just mix it so it looks like whip cream or so. This stuff is usually very cheap and works much better than the stuff at the store. My hair is platinum so i know how to get it blonde. The stuff at the store is sometimes exspensive and is not very strong so it will turn your hair orange. You may have to do it twice if it turns out a little golden. You also can get products at the store to take out any brassyness the bleach may leave behind.
