TUMMY QUESTION.I want to tighten my tummy muscles?!

Question:
I have some extra fat around my mid section.should I lose the fat first then start a sit up regimen or just start doing sit ups?
Answers:
Sit ups and crunches will help build and tone muscle in this area, but you cannot reduce fat in specific areas with targeted exercise. You'll just build more and more muscle underneath the fat, which makes you look even worse. The only way to reduce fat is by lowering calorie intake and doing more exercise in general, where you break the "carb wall." Jogging is great (but bad on the knees!)

But there's no real reason you can't do both, weight loss and muscle toning at once. The crunches do burn calories, you just can't control where the fat cells are burned from.

Other Answers:
do some crunches early in the morning. concult a gym. also go 4 a brisk walk in the morning for atleast 30 min.

Sit ups, crunches, jogging, being all round as active as possible.

Everything helps! Doing those excercises will loose the fat and strengthen the muscles underneath anyway!

You'll be using your abs to do washing on in no time!

Bosu.
20 Min. Aerobics on Bosu.
20 Min. Balance on Bosu.
20 Min. Toning on Bosu.

Total is 60 Min. of working your core <stomach, love handles, and back> you'll look great! Also is amazing for men who just can't get ride of their love handles.

do cardio and situps

What are crunches and what are situps? I understand they are some sorts of .. exercises but i don't know how to do them. I know! I know! I sound like I came from the fat planet of apes (or the planet of fat apes? .. or overweight apes :S). But the answer to that question would help me a great deal too.

P.S. i am from a non-english speaking country
