Is it true that lactic acid turns directly into muscle?!
Question: Is it true that lactic acid turns directly into muscle.?
Answers:
Absolutely not. Lactic acid is the byproduct of muscle contraction. It occurs during any muscle contraction, but during heavy exercise, it accumulates faster than the body can drain it away. And, since it is an acid, it burns.
Muscles are made of the proteins you ingest, which are then provided by the bloodstream.
I am guessing this myth came about from the fact that bodybuilders get this sensation all the time, and they are big. As opposed to endurance athletes who don't feel this feeling a lot, and aren't usually very big.
