Does eating chocolate give you acne?

Question:
I've heard that eating lots of chacolate gives you pimples, from a lot of people, and I believe so from my own experience....
But I was reading this diet book and it said that was not true.
What should I believe now?

Answer:
it was proven that is only a myth...hormones and stress causes acne not chocolate, see below link for more info

eat on chocolate lovers
its not true. there is no link between eating chocolate and getting acne.
Believe the book. The chocolate / acne myth has been passed on for generations. Ignore it.
Chocolate does not cause acne...most acne is caused by hormones. However, a poor diet can make acne worse. Drinking plenty of water, cutting WAY back on junk food like sodas and chocolate and using a cleanser that contains benzoyle peroxide and some sort of acne gel containing salicylic acid will clear that right up.
OK, this is a hotly debated question. I think it depends on what kind of chocoate you are eating. If you are eating things like snickers bars, this will give you pimples, not necessarily from the chocolate, but from all the other things in the candy. Howevr, I have heard that dark chocolate, plain and without a lot of processed stuff in there, can be very good for you. Not only a mood booster, but has been shown to be good for circulation and heart health. Also, some people just react differently to foods. You need to find what works best for you.
Its just a myth that's not true.
Nope.
No, it is an old wives tale. Pimples and acne are cause by hormones in the body and occasionally a bacterial infection. You need medication to get rid of pimples and acne; not a diet.

I had slight adult acne due to hormonal problems and went to the dermatologist for years. I can tell you for certain that chocolate does not cause pimples.
I have an allergic reaction to chocolate....I get raised bumps on my skin...mostly my arms. But I do occasionally get them on my face as well...

So I don't believe it when someone makes a general statement that something doesn't happen...when everyone is different...my raised bumps look exactly like acne.

I know when I eat foods that are high in calories, my skin gets greasy and I tend to break out...

I have to be the devils advocate here and say that I don't agree with your book. There is no 100%. Everyone reacts differently to different foods, so I have to say that it's possible.
not true
it depends, there are children that after eating more chocolate get some red spots on their faces...we have to have a measure for everything we're doing.
