can yiu take Zantac while on beta blockers?

Question:
I am on Beta Blockers as i was diagnosed with self terminating VT a heart condition, which causes iregular heart beats. i also have acid reflux which makes me feel quite sick

I bought zantac over the counter at boots but then read on the insert that a rare side affect can cause you to have iregular heart beats do you think i can take them? the people in boots say i can with beta blockers but as they may cause my heart to change rythem i am worried. can anyone else advice on other medications in the uk

Answer:
Medicines in the US are the same as in the UK. The problem with medications is that no one can say for certain you will or won't have a certain side effect. As far as whats written on the label , to avoid lawsuits the makers of drugs have to put a warning that basically anything under the sun could happen to you if you take their medicine. However as a former paramedic , Zantac should have no effect on VT or a Beta Blocking drug. I myself take a Beta Blocker for an irregular heartbeat and Prilosec for acid reflux and have had no problems. You should be fine. I have to say SHOULD BE or you will sue me if you die!! LOL
If the side affects information sheet doesn't mention Beta blockers you should be OK
yeh no problem, i do and my doc says its fine and ive had no problems at all.
You should be fine, but you should mention it to your doctor as Zantac should not be taken long term without medical advice. There are also alternatives which can be prescribed (one is Lansoprazole which is fine with beta blockers...I know as I am prescribed both!) and work out cheaper in the long run even if you pay prescription charges;
·Can yoga help with your posture?
·Can wearing prescription glasses or contact lenses harm my normal eye sight?
·Can you be allergic to anesthesia?
·can we stop our grew up one day ?????
·can you believe Doctors who treat you?
·Can we or do we sneeze while sleeping?
·Can you buy prescription only medication on the internet in the UK?
·Can Wal-Mart do this?
