Difference between Viral and Virus??

Question:
I've got a bad throat, i keep getting them about every 3 months. The Doctor said antibiotics won't work this time as it is Viral. What is the difference between Viral and Virus. Thanks.

Answer:
As far as your poor throat's concerned, they mean the same. Try gargling with dissolved Aspro-Clear to ease the pain and the inflammation. And generally, drink lots of hot drinks (tea is good because it's slightly antiseptic).

Just to ease your mind though ...
Grammatically, a virus is the noun (the thing itself) and viral is the adjective (describing the thing).
Viral is an adjective and virus is a noun, but it means the same thing
viral is adjective and virus is noun
with a virus infection you can take anti biotics to help you get better but with a viral you have to let nature take its course and let it flush out of your system
Viral is an adjective-it describes the conditon caused by a virus like the flu.
Viral refers to a virus in the same way that chocolatey refers to chocolate.
I don't think that a virus has a cell membrane wheras bacteria does. Therefore anti-biotic treatments which attack the cell membrane will have no effect on viruses. This is me guessing.
A virus is an identified infection.
Viral is the family that a Virus belongs to.

The difference is between Viral and Bacterial.
A virus is a known infection which is treatable in most cases.
Viral has to run its course.
viral refers to the symptoms which are presented by the patient, the virus itself is the causative agent.
