Contact Problems?

Question:
I have contacts and I know how to take care of them. I put rewitting drops to keep the moistened and I I still have a problem. Here it is it seems like everyday my contacts itch me and I put in the rewitting drops to moisten them but that doesn't help. I feel like I have to litterally scatch my eyeball just to releave the itching. The rewitting drops don't help all the time. I don't have a spare pair of contacts and I change them about evert three weeks. I need them to see and if they really bother me I just take them out but if I do that I am so blind I can't even see whats in front of me. Could it be the contacts or something else? What is it? Should I just get a pair of glasses and skip the contacts for a while or what? If I needed to get rid of the contacts would it be safe to just get lasik eye surgery. It's easier than dealing with contacts.

Answer:
Well from personal experience...I used contacts for 10 yrs.
I just got lasik a month ago (loving it)

1. You can get a pair of glasses, and only use your contacts when you go out (glasses around the house) Glasses can be unconfortable of you're not used to them.

2 Try changing contact solution, it actually makes a difference.

3. You might have dry eyes (I had dry eyes) If you go to the doctor, they put plugs in your eyes, they dont hurt, they stay permanent and they are to retain tears. You wont even know they are there. Before the doc does that, they measure your tear drop count.

Hope it helps :D
Seems like some people just can't get over their contact problems (me included). My solution: give up and go for the glasses. They sure are stylish nowadays!
I think you should see your optometrist. You might have an eye infection or possibly you need a different kind of contacts.
How long have you been wearing contacts? How long has this been happening? You need to put more info! It could be anything from allergies to contacts to the drops/solution. Have you changed anything you've been doing since you started wearing them? Do you use the same solution and drops? How long are you supposed to wear your contacts? Are they the two week or monthly? You should probably make an eye appointment to have it checked out---you need more contacts anyway, right?
It may be a number of things.

You may have an eye infection.
You may have allergies.
You may need to try a new brand or type of contacts.

I have worn contacts for 10 years and I cannot even feel them. I use Acuvue Advanced with Hydraclear and they seriously are the most comfortable I have ever used.

I also believe that Clear eyes makes eyedrops formulated for people with allergies and itchy eyes. You may want to try that if you have not already :)
